Us for now
The saying you never know where life will take you... is so true! When I married Adam 7 years ago, I had a feeling that life with him would be an adventure although at the time I never would have guessed just where it would lead. Over those 7 yrs we've managed to experience the majestic beauty of Alaska(where we made plans to settle, until things drastically changed and thank goodness they did) then the charming small town feel of Farmington for 5 yrs (where our two sweet babies entered our lives) and now here we are in the desert hills of St George. Adam has always talked about making his way back here, to where he relishes in his boyhood days.
I must say....
I NEVER thought I would like it this much! We're having an incredible experience making memories together in the desert, and yes it's HOT! Our days have been filled with lizard hunting, 25 main cupcakes, dance classes, splash parks, late night walks, carousel rides, exploring the river and basking in the extremely hot sun (only when submerged in water).
Life is blissful and we are content to find that home truly is wherever we are.

Days gone by

The vacation is over and life is finally back to usual. We've been busy playing with family, friends and toys that make home well home. Haven was so happy to be back to her room and toys. She has a little stuffed puppy that she named toesby. She is her best friend! She takes her everywhere sometimes it's good and sometimes it's kind of a pain. I am glad she has found happiness in the simple things and I think that's all that matters. I am looking forward to the day her little brother can play with her. She finds joy in his current stage of responding with giggles, big smiles and kicking his legs and flapping his arms. It's fun to have a little one and we're enjoying our little family.

Pink snow birdie
Lil brother
We've grown to a family of 4. Little baby Record "Liam Hayes" was born Oct. 8th @ 8:22am and weighed 5 lbs 3 oz 18.5 inches long. We love him so much! It's been an adjustment to have a little newborn again but it's so wonderful. He is such a good baby. It was easy for Haven to love him although he made her cry every time he cried. He is now 4 months and they both find joy in each other. She loves to get him to smile and is proud to be the big sister. It's such a blessing to have two sweet kids.

Do you see what I see

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and I am having a little bit of those post Christmas blues, I can't believe how fast it came and went. I am finding more joy each year, I think because we also celebrate Haven and Adam's birthdays around the holiday season. We really had the best Christmas and I was so excited for Haven that I couldn't sleep Christmas Eve (I felt like a kid again). Adam's brother and his family were in town and we did lots of fun things.
(This is the Place Monument Park, sledding, Christmas bell caroling, eating, playing the Wii)
I feel so much gratitude for all my blessings and for family and friends.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!

Turning 2

We had a really fun birthday party with our family this year for Haven's big number 2. It was a "barnyard theme" with good old fashioned pin the tail on the donkey, duck shooting game and mud pie eating contest (ie chocolate pudding/oreo's with gummy worms) Haven loves to sing "Happy Birthday" and has been practicing for a couple months now. She loved the balloons and all her gifts.
Thanks everyone for helping her have a great day:)

Untouched
Just you and me

Adam and I took a little weekend getaway to St George. We went down to see Thriller at the Tuacahn with his family. It was so much fun and well needed. It was the first time in 2yrs I had spent a night away from haven. We missed her lots but she was happy with her aunts/cousins and grandparents. I had never been to the Tuacahn before and it was so cool and really set the mood for Halloween.

I also wanted to share some Halloween pictures. This year's theme was "Alice in Wonderland" I was the Queen of Hearts, Adam was the Mad Hatter and of course Haven was Alice. She dressed as a bunny for the trunk-or-treat to stay warm.

Quiet!! time to read

Maybe....its because I am a mom now, but I love watching Haven "be mommy" to her baby. She loves her little doll and takes her with her everywhere and does what mommy does. She loves to lay a blanket out on the floor and wrap her baby in it. She loves to give her "baba's" and read books to her. The best part is she is starting to pretend play with her and I often catch her talking to her and then responding back "as the baby" Its precious!! I love having a little girl!!

Island girl
Our little family recently took a trip to Coronado Island; off the coast of San Diego California. We were so excited to take Haven to see the beach and the ocean. We had a great time and she loved it! The weather was so perfect and there were so many fun things to do. Here's a preview of the fun week we had there.
